The island Nin, sand beaches and salt mines
The picturesque fishing town Nin is about 20 km away from Zadar.
The historic center is situated on an island surrounded by a shallow lagoon. Two bridges connect the small town with the mainland.
Worth visiting is Sveti Križ, built in the 9th century. It’s the most important Old-Croatian building and the smallest Cathedral in the world.
The narrow and stretched out sand beach slopes gently into the sea and is ideal for children. Thanks to the shallow depth of the sea water, the temperature of the water is always a few degrees higher than in the open sea.
Nin is also known for its bays with black medicinal mud.
Outside the center you will find the well-known salt mines, a small museum and a souvenir shop.
